CINNAMON ROLLS

     

A traditional Yankee favourite – sweet and sinful! Just the way they serve them at my favourite coffee shop…J Worth the effort! About 12 portions

ROLLS

Ingredients:

20 g (= 2 sachets = 2 x 10g) Instant dry yeast

1 teaspoon (5 ml) sugar

1 cup (250 ml) warm water

1 large tin (410 g) Ideal Evaporated milk

2/3 cup (160 ml)(100 g) margarine – melted

3/4 cup (180 ml) sugar

4 teaspoons (20 ml) salt

7 – 8 cups flour

Topping:

additional 3 tablespoons (45 ml) margarine

additional 1 ½ cup (375 ml) sugar

3 tablespoons (45 ml) CINNAMON (ground)

2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar

Method:

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

Ingredients:

2 cups (500 ml) Icing sugar

1 small tin (165 g) Ideal Evaporated milk

½ cup (125 ml)(50 g) margarine - melted

1 tub (230 g) cream cheese

Method:

Tips:

  1. For greased plastic: a freezer/shopping bag cut open and greased with cooking spray works well.
  2. The rolls can easily be reheated in the microwave and stored for 3 days.
