HOT BEEF CURRY AND SAMBALS

     

A creamy curry with a bite… Make this one as hot as you like! 2– 4 servings.

Ingredients:

450 – 500 g beef cubes

2 tablespoons (30 ml) cake flour

1 teaspoon CURRY POWDER (HOT)

1 teaspoon PAPRIKA

2 – 3 tablespoons (30 – 45 ml) vegetable oil

1 cup water

½ onion, chopped

¼ cup (60 ml) water

2 – 3 tablespoons (30 – 45 ml) CURRY POWDER (HOT)

1 tablespoon (15 ml) cornflour (mix with a little water)

1 cup (250 ml) coconut milk

Method:

Tips:

  1. Add boiled, cubed potato to the curry before adding the coconut milk, and strips of carrot and green beans if prefer.

SAMBALS

Small portions salads traditionally served with Malay curries.

# 1: Tomato sambal

Ingredients:

3 tomatoes, chopped

½ onion, chopped

pinch WHITE PEPPER (GROUND)

pinch NUTMEG (GROUND)

1 tablespoon (15 ml) brown vinegar

½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) brown sugar

1 English cucumber, peeled and grated

pinch WHITE PEPPER (GROUND)

pinch salt

1 tablespoon (15 ml) brown vinegar
